This Saturday!

What’s the best cure for a Halloween Hangover?
Without a doubt it’s got to be Cabbagetown’s annual Chomp And Stomp Festival!
Test your palate against celebrity judges by rating the competitors in this now-famous chili cook off.
Wash it down with a delicious local brew, and just kick back and relax to the sounds of the
best live music in town!

The Chomp & Stomp’s got everything you expect from Atlanta’s excellent Festival Scene including a kids area and one of the very coolest Artists Markets around.

…and you wanna maybe earn your Saturday hangover?
Then plan on starting your Chomp & Stomp at the Romp & Stomp,

C-town’s 5K Race that kicks off the day’s festivities at 8am.

The Intown Agent is a big fan of Cabbagetown’s very own
Mary Todd Hairdressing Company.Barbering visionaries Steven Sloss and Sean Gardner have come together to create a
stunning bit of magic

on Carroll St. in Cabbagetown, Atlanta.
The shop is home to a locally based, friendly and talented staff of Hair Care professionals
whose services include:
mens & ladies cuts, hair color, beard trims and hot lather shaves.
The Intown Agent was super excited when Mary Todd Hairdressing Company recently began
widespread release of their own line of hairdressing products.
I love the #2 Pomade. If I wore a scent, this would be it.

In case you haven’t dropped by the shop yet,
here’s my great attempt at a verbal encapsulation of the visual delight that awaits you:
Imagine Alice in Wonderland meets Hieronymus Bosch meets Mayberry NC.
…do you really need any more of a prodding to make a trip to MTHC your next destination?
(click on the image above for more information)

…and how bout a little family fun?

…over in The EAV, this is happening tonight!
Everybody’s welcome to take part in the costume contest, trick or treat, face painting…
Halloween, Halloween, Halloween for everybody!

About Grant Park…

The Neighborhood’s namesake, Grant Park, is a 131 acre green space that includes a playground, walking trails, and beautiful landscaping.  For History buffs, the nearby Cyclorama is a rotating museum showcasing the world’s largest oil-based painting, depicting the battle of Atlanta.  Also in Grant Park is Zoo Atlanta, one of the oldest zoos in the country.  Other nearby activities include Oakland Cemetery, which is the resting place of some of the city’s most famous residents, Hushpuppy Gallery, and Grant Park Pool.
-Laura Hutton, about.atlanta.com

1963 Hosea L. Williams Drive
One of the best kept secrets in Atlanta has gotten out!  Le Petit Marché opened in Kirkwood in 2008 as just that–a little market–offering unique pantry items, fresh breads and cheeses, and other locally sourced and home made fare.  Since then they’ve become popular for serving up some of the most delicious breakfasts and lunches in the city.  So popular, in fact, that we hear they’re planning to move into a larger space across the street.  It’s pretty safe bet they’ll be just as successful in the new location.  Click here or on the image above to learn more about Le Petit Marché.

Gunshow!

924 Garrett Street SE • Glennwood Park

One of the best things about living in Ormewood Park would be that you’re so close to chef Kevin Gillespie’s newest hit – Gunshow.  Conceived as a new take on the Southern barbecue joint he also borrows from the idea of dim sum style service–here the chefs prepare various dishes and bring them to you personally!  Locally sourced and seasonal, the offerings are constantly changing.  This is a totally new experience, and one that you’re bound to repeat often.  Click here or on the image above for past menu inspirations and reservation info.

Brake Pad Restaurant and Bar

Pretty catchy name for a restaurant in an old service station, right?  About as catchy as Universal Joint, her sister location in Oakhurst, but this family of restaurants and pubs doesn’t have to rely on their clever themes to reel folks in.  Besides being fun and unique hangouts, they also happen to serve some really bang up grub!  Make sure to  check them out while you’re visiting East Point!  Click on the image above for more information and menu.
