City Of Atlanta Press Release, July 29:
In an effort to improve public safety and better allocate resources, the City has enacted a series of amendments to the existing False Alarm Ordinance. The new ordinance will take effect on September 15, 2013and residents will have until February 1, 2014 to register without incurring an unregistered alarm penalty. Residents can register their alarm system for free online at www.crywolf.us/atlantaga/ or by calling1-855-725-7102. There is a $150 fine for not registering an alarm. If an alarm is activated and it turns out to be false there is no fine, just a warning. The 2nd false alarm will result in a $50 fine to the homeowner. Fines will escalate for each false call thereafter.

Since it’s not a festival without food, bring your appetite and dine of tasty festival fare provided by some of the city’s most popular food trucks. Even the name sounds classy, right?! The Peachtree Hills/Ansley Park area is home to one of the most enthusiastic art buying communities in the city, so it stands to reason they’d have fantastic art and artisans at their festival. So many wonderful painters, sculptors, and photographers will be displaying, as well as fabulous jewelers and other artists who work in glass, leather, and metal. As many as 150 fine crafts people will be offering their unique creations, and this year they’ve added something really special: The Living Social Wine Festival at nearby Atlanta Decorative Arts Center. Morningside Farmers Market features a culinary demonstration with Chef Ian Winslade of Murphy’s. The Sandy Springs Farmers Market gets up and running with some of the best in local produce anywhere. Peachtree Road Farmers Market started last weekend, EAV Farmers Market starts Thursday, and Grant Park’s is next Sunday. Fitness nuts, foodies, or just regular folks who want to eat healthier better tasting food, this is your time!
